R&B superstar Usher reportedly canceled a pre-Grammy performance for Clive Davis, due to a family emergency. That emergency was his wife.
According to "Access Hollywood", the singer's wife, Tameka Foster, was in Brazil over the weekend, recovering from complications of a plastic surgery.
Usher enlisted neurosurgeon Dr. Gabriel Hunt, of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, to treat his wife, and he flew to South America.
As of press time, Tameka was in stable condition, and Usher is at her bedside at the hospital.
"Tameka Raymond is in stable condition after suffering complications from routine surgery in Brazil," Usher's rep said in a statement to Access Hollywood Monday morning (February 9). "Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital."
The rep said that Usher and his wife don't plan to release any further details regarding the surgery, and asks for privacy at "this difficult time."
