A man, accused of assaulting his girlfriend, led Los Angeles police on a slow-speed chase in a white luxury Bentley sedan through the city for more than three hours Monday night (February 9).

At the end of the pursuit, which ended in Universal City (near Universal Studios), the unidentified man shot himself in the head, and later died.

Initial rumors pointed toward Chris Brown as the culprit, in wake of his alleged assault and arrest Sunday (February 8). But when a photo surfaced of the man in the vehicle, some outlets reported that it was DJ Khaled.

Despite the rumors, Khaled himself has released a statement, denying the chatter. In fact, he's not even in L.A.

"This is DJ Khaled and due to recent press and news reports, I feel compelled to release a statement," he said Tuesday (February 10), in a statement through his publicist. "Just to be clear I am in Miami, Florida, working on Rick Ross' album, Deeper Than Rap. I am not in L.A., where there are reports that I have been in a police chase. These reports are completely false and unfounded."

The chase spanned from Interstates 5, 10 and all the way to the 405, before the unnamed came to a stop on Lankershim Boulevard, in front of a car dealership.

After a 90-minute stand-off, the man took his own life. Minutes later, an ambulance arrived, the suspect was pulled from the car, put on a gurney and taken away.
