Rapper DMX was placed in solitary confinement recently, after a verbal altercation with guards at Arizona's Maricopa County Detention Center on Sunday (February 8).
According to the Associated Press, the rapper (real name: Earl Simmons) -- who is currently serving a 90 day sentence for three felony charges -- refused to report for his designated job in the jail, which officers claim wasn't the first time.
Later that same day, X did not show up to receive medication at the designated time from jail staff, and became agitated when he showed up an hour later demanding medicine.
When a supervisor tried to intervene, the rapper launched a verbal assault, resulting on the lockdown order.
He will now spend 23 hours a day in his cell, and be placed on a bread and water diet.
X was copped a plea in December 2008. In exchange for a guilty plea, he was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation and 90 days in jail after pleading guilty to cruelty to animals, theft and two drug counts.
