50 Cent was ranked among black power stars recently, when Forbes named their list of Top 3 Earning Black American Stars.
Oprah Winfrey was named no. 1, earning an estimated $275 million between June of 2007 to June 2008. Her resume boasts an XM radio satellite show, a self-titled magazine, and an active production company. Later this year, she'll roll out the Oprah Winfrey Network.
However, 50 Cent was right on her heels.
Fif' was named no. 2, thanks to his $100 million cut from the sale of Vitamin Water to Coca Cola. Forbes says he earned an impressive $151 million during the same period.
His empire includes his G-Unit clothing line, record label, films, video games, and platinum albums.
Right behind Oprah and Fiddy was Tyler Perry.
The writer, actor, director and producer earned $125 million over the course of the year, thanks to his major film releases, hit TBS comedies, and successful DVDs. His portfolio includes a best-selling book, and several successful stage plays.
Perry launched his own studio late last year, making him the very first African American film producer to own a major television and film studio.
