Miami rapper Rick Ross recently revealed that he's parted ways with his longtime label, Slip-N-Slide Records, and plans to release his next album through his own Maybach Music imprint.
The album, titled Deeper Than Rap, will be Ross' third solo project, and is slated for April. With it coming in just a few months, the rapper recently told MTV that two songs will be coming within the next few weeks.
The first is a track called "I'm the Magnificent."
"That's what makes the record real special," Ross told MTV. "It just takes everybody a little deeper into my world. Everybody can just musically hear the growth. The content is something that's most definitely something real special. The track was produced by the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. I got John Legend himself on the chorus. It's something real big and creative. I haven't heard John on this type of vibe."
And the second will be a track that Ross will address "a few things," and "cause a lot of problems," he divulged.
"It's titled 'Mafia Music' and it's gonna cause a lot of problems," the rapper explained to MTV. "It's a scathing four-and-half-minute nonstop flow, me being autobiographical about my life and my come-up and my triumph. Of course, I had to address a few things, I had to address a few people. I love it. The thing is, some people are gonna be ... um ... they're gonna be f***ed up. That's the best way I can put it."
So far, Ross says he's about 85% finished with Deeper Than Rap. But, in the meantime, he plans to head to D.C. over the week for Obama's historic inauguration.
