Rapper Kanye West has always been one to break stereotypes and go outside the box, but is there a chance he could go too far? After hearing his most recent comments, you just might think so.
In a recent interview with Vibe, West said he'd like to pose nude ... one day to "break every rule ... of hip-hop."
"I definitely feel, like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I'll pose naked. I [want to] break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture,” said 'Ye in Vibe's February issue.
If West felt brave enough to make the large leap, he wouldn't be the first to do it. According to AllHipHop.com, New York rap icon Big Daddy Kane posed partially nude in a June 1991 issue of Playgirl magazine. He also did a risqué three-way photo shoot with Madonna and super model Naomi Campbell, which appeared in Madonna's Sex book in 1992.
In addition to his nude ambitions, West revealed that he's eventually like to have "less fans," or a more devoted following.
"I made a decision. I wanna make popular music, but I want less fans," West told writer Sean Fennessey when asked if he was comfortable with fame. "I want the freedom of having less fans. It's like the freedom of having less money. If you have less money, you have less responsibility."
He goes on to clarify that when he says "less fans," he means a core fanbase who understand him, rather than a swell of "fly-by-night" followers that an artist of his stature would attract.
