West Coast rapper Jihad has scored his first movie role, the lead in an independent movie entitled "Hype," which will be premiering at the annual Cannes' Film Festival in France in May.
The film is being filmed by French movie director Kader Ayd, and also features other West Coast rappers, including Bishop Lamont.
Jihad, of Pakistani descent and L.A. based, also told BallerStatus.com he began shooting his first music video for his upcoming street single "Eazy", which will be premiering on MTV Arabia and various video channels in the Middle East and Europe, before making it's debut on MTV in the States.
It will be followed by the release of Jihad's official single, of which the title has not been confirmed yet, produced by Grammy nominated producer Big 4D, known for his work on T.I.'s multi-platinum album T.I. vs. T.I.P.
In addition to bulking up his movie resume and new music, the rapper is also been in talks with MTV Arabia for his own reality show, in which he will document his career and the creative process of completing a new album out in Dubai. He's also co-producing a documentary based on the Middle East hip-hop scene and many of its established and upcoming artists.
Next up, music wise, for Jihan is a compilation mixtape titled DJ Evil Empire & Rebellion Records Presents Unity Vol. 1, followed by his very own new mixtape/street album, DJ Skee Presents: Jihad - Ruled By Shadows, both of which willlead into his major release of his mixtape/street album with DJ Drama and DJ Don Cannon in the 2nd quarter of 2009.
