Rising Latin rapper R.P.M., hailing from Chicago, is getting more than just a rapper, he's an entrepreneur, who's landed his first soundtrack placement, and the co-sign of Southern rap veteran Master P, otherwise known as P. Miller.

The young rapper (real name: Enrique Ruiz) recently scored the title track in the upcoming film,"Little Mailman," as well as an endorsement deal with PeopleFirstCard.com to promote their line of prepaid card products.

His mixture of rapping in both English and Spanish, layered among R&B and reggae beats, has proven to be a key to the success for the young rapper, helping him garner the attention of hip-hop mogul P. Miller, who is excited about R.P.M.'s future in music.

"'Latin hip-hop is the new urban culture," said P. Miller (formerly Master P). "I fully support R.P.M. He owns his own company and has that '1999 Ice Cream Man Hustle.' His music is hot, it has meaning, and crosses cultural divides. With the economy in a slump, he's finding new and creative ways to be heard while retaining his independence. R.P.M. is a Puerto Rican/Mexican Chicago native, who stumbled upon music as an escape from the violent reality in his community. At an early age, R.P.M. decided that he wanted to take a different path and not become entrenched in gangs and violence that plagues the inner-city Chicago areas. After losing his cousin at the young age of 17, he needed a way out.

The rapper partnered with businessman Jim Finkl to start the Chicago-based music company, Starr E Music, which he says serves as a positive symbol that goals can be reached through hard work and an optimistic message.

R.P.M. is currently gearing up for a national tour, and will wrap things up with the release of his debut album, Time 4 Change, the summer of 2009.
