Lupe Fiasco said in the past that he's only got one more hip-hop in him, and would possibly retire his microphone. But is he giving up hip-hop for another musical genre? Possibly rock?
According to FakeShoreDrive.com, the Chicago rapper is using the new moniker Percival Fats, and is fronting a new rock band called Japanese Cartoon, where he sings in a British accent.
So far, he's leaked two tracks -- "Heirplanes" and "Army" (preview both tracks via MySpace) -- via his blog.
There's no official word if Japanese Cartoon is a side project, or if he will, in fact, release an album under the name.
Stay tuned as further details are revealed.
In other Lupe news, he's announced that the first single from his upcoming third album will be "Shining Down," and says the album, is "coming sooner than I expected."
