Gym Class Heroes' frontman, Travis McCoy, recently became the latest artist to sign with T-Pain's Nappy Boy Entertainment imprint.
During a recent performance on Lil Wayne's "I Am Music" Tour, T-Pain announced the signing before a crowd of screaming fans, which was documented on T-Pain's official YouTube channel.
"Check this out, I wanna bring somebody back onstage," Pain told the audience. "I'm gonna make this real quick -- everybody get your phones out for YouTube, you ready? Ladies and gentlemen, [McCoy] signs to Nappy Boy Entertainment."
Immediately following the official announcement, the auto-tune king draped a Nappy Boy chain around McCoy's neck, as fans cheered loudly, and then T-Pain dapped up Travis.
Travis spoke about the signing later backstage.
"Yo, what you know it is man. Travis, Gym Class Heroes, newest member of Nappy Boy fam," he says. "I got crowned by the king himself tonight. I feel like a prince among kings. We gonna make it do what it do."
Travis' Gym Class Heroes crew is signed as a group to Atlantic Records. Most likely, the new deal is a solo deal for Travis to Pain's label.
