Despite a gold-selling album in 2003, Joe Budden sat on the shelf at Def Jam for almost five years with his sophomore album nowhere in sight. Now, as a free agent, the rapper is preparing the release of his official second album, Padded Room, via Amalgam Digital.

Coming in February 2009, the album has already received rave reviews from the likes of XXL and Spin. Its first single is the brand new collaboration with The Game titled "The Future," already all over the internet, with a video to follow shortly.

Aside from Game, Padded Room is all Joe Budden. Production is handled by a handful of up-and-coming producers such as Blastah Beatz, Klasixs, and Moss.

Additionally, his label Amalgam Digital plans to give buyers a few bonuses when they purchase the album digital come release day. When bought through AmalgamDigital.com, fans will be given exclusive hidden bonus tracks.

Padded Room is slated for release February 24.
