Oprah Winfrey has been named the most powerful woman in entertainment, topping The Hollywood Reporter's annual Power 100 List.

22 years after she gained national syndication on her afternoon talk show, Winfrey has become a full-fledged powerhouse, able to turn anything she features on her show to gold. Most recently, she played a vital part in the presidential election with her endorsement of President-elect Barack Obama.

Elizabeth Guider, editor of The Hollywood Reporter, told Reuters that Winfrey could be "the most influential woman in America."

The 54-year-old talk show giant moved up five spots from her position last year at no. 6 to gain the top spot, thanks to a study by University of Maryland economists who found Winfrey's support for Obama as a factor to win him more than 1 million votes nationwide.

According to Oprah's company, Harpo Inc., they made $345 million last year. Her empire includes her TV show, a magazine and an online store.

In addition to Oprah, women who graced the list included Angelina Jolie at no. 24, Tyra Banks at no. 36, BET CEO Debra Lee at no. 46, and former "SNL" comedian Tina Fey at no. 51.
