By Cyrus Langhorne ♦ Published 04/24/2008

Solange KnowlesSolange Knowles, the younger sister of megastar Beyonce, recently revealed that is working on her sophomore album, due out in August.

For the new album, titled Sol-Angel And The Hadley Street Dreams, Solange plans to move away from the typical R&B production you hear today, revealing a varied grouping of producers that include Cee-Lo, Q-Tip, Mark Ronson and Raphael Saadiq.

Speaking on the Pharrell-guided lead single, "I Decided," Solange explained her determination to make the album feel more like the era of The Beatles. "I have been so inspired by the music of the 60s and the 70s and it definitely showcases in this record,” the singer/songwriter wrote in a Myspace posting.

Solange says she trusts the public's interest in hearing something new and more diverse than the typical R&B albums being released today.

"I have faith that people are ready for a change and diversity and an intelligent ear and I hope this record can fit into that mold," she wrote.

Despite releasing her previous album on Columbia Records, the second effort will be released via Geffen. Although an official tracklisting has yet to be revealed, one single called "Ode to Marvin" allows Solange the opportunity to pay homage to Marvin Gaye in her version of his anthem, "What's Going On."

Sol-Angel And The Hadley Street Dreams is slated for release August 26.
