 It's finally going down. Jay-Z and longtime girl Beyonce have reportedly taken out a marriage license, so is this it? Are they taking the plunge?
Guess we'll all have to wait and see. Sounds kind of fishy since it's April Fool's Day though.
However, according to a report from People.com, the pair obtained the official document on Tuesday morning (April 1) in Scarsdale, New York.
Attempts for official statements from both of the artists came back with nothing. Beyonce's rep had no comment, while calls to get a comment from Jay were unsuccessful.
A source reportedly told UsMagazine.com on Tuesday that the couple has told close friends that they would like to marry in May after Jay-Z's tour with Mary J. Blige ends.
"Jay is trying to pull it together quickly and on the fly to keep it private," the source told the site. "They really wanted it to be private."
In December 2006, Beyonce didn't seem ready to walk down the aisle yet. She told InStyle "you can't rush a man into anything."
In September 2007, Jay told reporters in Las Vegas during VMA Week that the couple will get married "one day soon -- let's leave it at that."
Either way, if it happens or not, it's unlikely the super couple would talk about it publicly. Since beginning their relationship in 2002, it's rare if you hear either talking about it, if they comment on it at all.
