Lil Wayne's long awaited Tha Carter III album has finally received a release date for May.
Following the debut of the album's first single "Lollipop" featuring Static Major, the rapper's album has now been set for May 13th, via Young Money / Cash Money / Universal Motown.
The album will be the final set from Weezy's Carter album series, his first solo album since 2005's Tha Carter II, which has sold 1.3 million copies to date, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
The rapper told Billboard.com in 2005 that the album will feature guest spots from several young artists including Hurricane Chris, Corey Gunz, Tyga, Jibbs, and Lil Mama, among others.
Most recently, Wayne confirmed that Kanye West has also contributed.
"It's one of those albums people are really waiting on, so I made it so that whatever is on it will stick with you forever," Wayne told Billboard. "I'm taking my time with it. And I'm giving artists I respect and people I want to do songs with -- not songs the label fixed -- an opportunity to collaborate."
