50 Cent Throws Funeral For Fat Joe, Mocks His Album Sales
Published 03/20/2008, by Miles Bennett

50 CentThe back and forth between 50 Cent and Fat Joe continues. And with the first week numbers in for Joe's latest album, Elephant In The Room, 50's having a field day insulting the Bronx rapper.

In a video posted on 50 Cent's online community ThisIs50.com, the G-Unit boss throws a mock funeral for Fat Joe's career, saying the rapper's career has ended.

"Fat Joe just passed away. Soundscan came out and he sold like 46,000 copies," 50 says, via video, with tears streaming from his eyes. "DJ Khaled is almost finished, he's done.

"The results are in, Elephant In The Sand (50's latest mixtape) wins by a landslide. [It's at] 400,000 copies downloaded. On ThisIs50.com, a staggering 220,000 downloaded there and if you don't believe me, you can go check yourself and see it. It's a fact," he continued, poking fun at Joe for selling just 46,000 copies according to Nielsen Soundscan.

For those unaware, 50 Cent dropped a mixtape titled Elephant In The Sand with his G-Unit roster on the same day as Fat Joe's latest solo album, Elephant In The Room. Since they both dropped, he's been counting the days down and the numbers to see who came out on top.

According to 50, his download numbers have beaten Fat Joe's sales by a landslide. He also sarcastically explained how he felt bad for the Terror Squad founder.

"I think this is really bad for him," 50 said. "I think that the space that he's in right now, he won't ever create material that makes him relative. Every album, the n**** put out one song that's good. The rest of the sh-- is just trash. It's not even worth buying the CD."

50 goes on to call the beef between Fat Joe "fun," and just "sparring."

50 and Joe have not been real chummy ever since Joe appeared on Ja Rule's single "New York." Although it's died down over the past year or so, it resurfaced when Joe announced the release of a new album, and got worse after his recent scuffle with rapper Papoose in early March.

Since then, Pap, Fat Joe and 50 Cent have been going at it verbally via their music, YouTube videos and interviews.
