Rapper DMX seems like he's not really too informed on a few major things going on in the U.S. as of the past year or so. Specifically that a black man is running for president, Barack Obama.

In a recent interview with XXL, the rapper discusses several topics with the online version of the magazine, but when asked if he had been following the current election, he said he wasn't and as he continued, he shockingly revealed that he had never even heard of Barack Obama.

"Wow, Barack! The n****'s name is Barack? Barack?" DMX asked when the interview asked if had heard of the democratic candidate. "N**** named Barack Obama. What the f***, man?! Is he serious? That ain't his f***in' name. Ima tell this n**** when I see him, 'Stop that bullsh**. Stop that bullsh**' (laughs )That ain't your f***in' name.' Your momma ain't name you no damn Barack."

According to X, the upcoming election doesn't concern him because he feels we don't have a choice anyway.

"No, because it's just -- it doesn't matter," the rapper said. "They're gonna do what they're gonna do. It doesn't really make a difference. These are the last years.

"The president is a puppet anyway. The president don't make no damn decisions... either way it doesn't matter. I don't care. No one person is directly affected by which president, you know, so what does it matter," he continued.

In addition to the rants on the election, the rapper revealed that he half way done with the gospel side of his upcoming album being released through Bodog.

The first single is the track titled "All Ready."

At press time, there wasn't a date for release of the two-disc Walk With Me Now and You'll Fly With Me Later.
