Washington, D.C. rapper, Wale, has signed into a joint venture with Mark Ronson's Allido imprint and Interscope Records, where he plans to release his debut album this fall.
The rapper created a buzz for himself over the past year, garnering a following thanks in part to his hit single "Nike Bootz," which spawned a remix with Lil Wayne, as well as landing a cover with URB magazine.
In 2007, Wale signed a production deal with Ronson’s Allido Records in 2007 and has been involved in a major label bidding war over the past six months.
According to rapper, his reason for narrowing down his choice to Interscope lies with the label's consistency.
"Look at their track record," Wale explained via a statement. "Dre, Eminem, 50, Pharrell, Timbaland, Black Eyed Peas, Soulja Boy... the list goes on."
According to Hot 97's Miss Info, Ronson will executive produce the rapper's forthcoming album debut, and Pharrell, Just Blaze, Kanye West and 9th Wonder are all rumored to make contributions.
Wale joins a roster at Allido that also includes Rhymefest, and R&B artist Daniel Merriweather.
At press time, there was no set date of release for the rapper’s album, but Wale plans to release a new mixtape shortly titled Mixtape About Nothing.
