Last year marked the premiere of ego trip's "The (White) Rapper Show." This year, ego trip and VH1 have teamed up again, expanding the series to explore a different category in search of a rapper -- a female one that is.
Despite the success of female MCs like Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Eve and Da Brat, the female rapper area is still wide open in hip-hop with females rarely being accepted or even noticed, as far as rapping goes. So with ego trip's "Miss Rap Supreme," they plan to the next big female rapper.
With the help of "(White) Rapper Show" host MC Serch and female rap luminary, Yo-Yo, the upcoming show -- consisting of eight episodes -- will guide a chosen few through the rough waters of the hip-hop game with the help of special guest hip-hop heavyweights.
On the show, 10 contestants will battle for the title of Miss Rap Supreme and $100,000 in cash.
Via a press release, the show's producers say that the "female MCs have to find a way to make it through challenges that will test their sex appeal, stage presence and, of course, their mental toughness and creativity."
"Miss Rap Supreme" will premiere on Monday, April 14th at 10:00 p.m. on VH1.
