 Rapper Lil Wayne is currently free on $10,000 bond, after being arrested in Arizona on three felony drug charges on Wednesday (January 23) when police stopped his tour bus at a border checkpoint.
The rapper (real name: Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) spent a day behind bars at the Yuma County jail before his release.
The Yuma County Attorney's Office filed felony drug and weapons charges Friday (January 25) against Lil Wayne, according to the Associated Press.
The 25-year-old rapper has been officially charged with one count each of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Although Weezy is staying positive regarding the case, his local attorney, James Tilson, told the AP, "He is very concerned about the charges."
He is scheduled to appear February 12 at a preliminary hearing, but is free to travel outside of Arizona in the meantime.
Weezy's bus was stopped at a Border Patrol checkpoint at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday (January 22) just outside the city of Yuma.
During the stop, several narcotics were found, including 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and 41 grams of ecstasy pills. He was arrested, along with two others, and booked into the Yuma County Sheriff's Department.
The 25-year-old rapper faces charges of possession of dangerous drugs, narcotics and drug paraphernalia, reports the AP.
The two others arrested each face a charge of possession of marijuana.
