Usher 'Itching' To Release New Album Says Jermaine Dupri
By Allen Starbury ♦ Published 01/11/2008

It's been three years since Usher broke records with the release of Confessions, which boasted the smash single "Yeah!" with Ludacris and Lil Jon, with no cemented release date for its follow-up in sight.

When recently speaking with Billboard.com, producer and Island Def Jam's Jermaine Dupri said that the singer is "itching" to get his new record out.

"He has been taking a pretty long time to put it out, but I think he's ready now," Dupri told Billboard.com. "The last couple times I've been around [him], you could tell he's got the bug to hurry up and put this record out. He wants to get back out here and give the people that. He's got that itch."

So far, the only information revealed about the upcoming album is that Dupri produced the track "The Realest," T-Pain produced "All the Time," and Ludacris guests on "Dat Girl Right There."

Besides that Billboard reports that Dre & Vidal and Cool & Dre are rumored to have lent their production talents as well.

The as-yet-titled album is slated for release sometime this year.
