Rapper Lil Wayne is being sued by a California based auto customizer who claims he is owed early $80,000 for work that was done to the rapper's 1999 Bentley, but failed to pay.
According to documents obtained by TheSmokingGun.com, businessman LeMarck deAndre filed suit against Wayne (real name: Dwayne Carter) breached a contract between the two for cost parts, shipment and storage of the vehicle totaling $79,200.
In the lawsuit, deAndre claims that the 25-year-old rapper paid $78,507 to him in August of 2006, ten months after the payment was initially due. Since the payment was received late, Wayne breached the initial customization contract, prompting deAndre to terminate the transaction altogether.
deAndre then demanded additional payment to cover the cost of parts already ordered and the expense of shipping the vehicle back to Wayne. Although Wayne initially refused to pay the charges, the two entered into a new agreement with the deAndre that would cover the cost of parts, shipment and storage of the vehicle, costing the $79,200 sum.
The suit claims that Wayne has since failed to pay the agreed upon sum.
deAndre is suing for the $79,200 sum, as well as an additional $200 per day since November 1, plus attorney fees.
