Bun B Remembers Pimp C
By Allen Starbury ♦ Published 12/07/2007

When Pimp C was incarcerated two years ago, his partner Bun B held him down by launching a "Free Pimp C" movement. Now, with the unfortunate passing of Pimp C on Tuesday (December 4), Bun is has lost his brother and longtime friend.

In a recent interview with MTV, Bun B spoke on his fallen comrade and explained that he will never be the same person again, as he remembered Pimp C as the passionate artist he was.

"He was passionate. He wanted to be as honest with people as he could -- almost to a fault, you know?" Bun told MTV. "And it's just ... it's kind of hard to really put a lot of that into words, the kind of man he was. But everything he loved -- everyone he loved -- he loved hard and embraced it fully.

"I know I'm not alone in my grief and my pain. And it's not just his family and closest friends -- there was a lot of people who loved him, there was a lot of people that were hurt before, when he went to prison, and they carried us so far and held us up for so long. They brought us to where we are right now. I know they're hurting right now. I feel their pain, I hear their prayers, I hear them on the radio. And I thank them and I love them, and I just want them to know Pimp loved them too," he continued of the pain he feels today.

Bun said that despite Pimp's passing, the fans' kind words are helping everyone close to the fallen rapper get through the heartache.

"I just thank the fans for not being afraid to call in and say how much they loved him. Because his family and friends and myself included, we all need to hear that, and it's good to know that. I'm not alone right now. It's really good to know that, and I thank them for it. And I love them and he loved them, too," he said.

In the rest of the interview, Bun speaks about how important music was to Pimp, his recent comments about Atlanta, and their recently nominated single "Int'l Players Anthem."
