Bryan "Baby" Williams, a.k.a. Birdman, spoke out about his Tuesday night (November 27) arrest on Wednesday (November 28), setting things straight in the media.
Speaking with MTV, the rapper and Cash Money Records label founder said that when they were pulled over, he was asleep in the back, but nonetheless, they were arrested, but not for being in possession of a pound like previously reported. According to Baby, it was much less.
"We was on the bus. I was asleep in the back," he told MTV. "Why they pulled us over, I don't know. The people are making the situation out worse than what it is. We got arrested for a misdemeanor amount of [marijuana] -- we didn't have no pound. The police just found something minor in a garbage can the dog sniffed. We all got out on bond."
Additionally, it was revealed that guns were found on the RV, but Baby maintains they were all legit, saying that him and his security are licensed to carry weapons, all of which were returned to them. So, that's the reason no gun charges were brought up and they are "good" on that front.
As far as him being reported as married, that's not true, he said.
"I'm not married," Baby told MTV. "Never! Been! Married! Plus, that girl was 18! I don't get down like that! Plus, if I was married, why would I keep it a secret?"
The rapper is currently on the road promoting the release of his new solo album, 5 Star G, which is due out December 11.
He's currently free on $1,500 bond and is due back in court on March 18.
