It's a big week on the charts this week, especially for Jay-Z.

The veteran rapper and Def Jam Prez achieved a huge milestone this Wednesday (November 14) when results of last week's sales of his latest release, American Gangster, came back and he was no. 1.

With 425,000 copies sold, and taking the no. 1 spot on Billboard's Top 200, Jay-Z enters history, tying Elvis Presley in second place, behind the Beatles, with more career no. 1 albums. This is Jay's 10th, the Beatles have 19.

The new album is his second full-length album in a year timespan, following 2006's comeback album, Kingdom Come. Since 1998, all eight of Jay-Z's album have hit no. 1, including his mash-up project with Linkin Park called Collision Course and Unfinished Business, a collaborative album with R. Kelly.

Coming in at no. 4 is teen R&B superstar, Chris Brown, whose sophomore release Exclusive sells 294,000 in its opening week, thanks in part to the hit single "Kiss Kiss," featuring T-Pain. His debut opened at no. 2 in 2005, but only sold 154,000.

Cassidy makes his return to the charts this week as well with his first album since completing jail time and surviving a near-fatal car accident in 2006. B.A.R.S.: The Barry Adrian Reese Story opens at no. 10 after scanning 63,000. His sophomore release, 2005's I'm A Hustla, opened at no. 5 with 93,000.

The official soundtrack to "American Gangster," by Def Jam, comes in at no. 36 with 21,000.

Keyshia Cole drops out of the top 20 to no. 21 this week with Just Like You with just 38,528 sold, while Soulja Boy's SouljaBoyTellEm.com slips from 19 to 25 with 32,396 CDs sold.

And Kanye West's Graduation dips further down the ranks to no. 26, selling 31,636 more copies.

Nas' Greatest Hits set opens at no. 124 with 6,857 sold.

According to Billboard, album sales are up 7.5% from last week at 9.95 million units and down 16.8% from the same week in 2006 (11.95 million).
