The Wu-Tang's own Method Man was arrested in New York on Thursday (May 17) when police discovered nearly 30 grams of marijuana in his possession during a traffic stop.

The rapper (real name: Clifford Smith) was reportedly stopped at around 10 p.m. near the toll booths on Hamilton Ave., as he attempted to enter the Battery Tunnel in Brooklyn.

Police spotted expired tags on Meth's 2005 Lincoln Navigator, so they pulled him over. When the rapper rolled down his window, a cloud of marijuana smoke poured out of the vehicle, which prompted a thorough search of the vehicle.

"It was like something out of 'Cheech and Chong.' He rolls down the window and the smoke would choke a horse," a source told the New York Daily News.

The arresting officer also said that he noticed two "blunts" and a plastic bag with more marijuana in plain view. Method Man was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle under the influence and driving an uninspected motor vehicle.

He was booked and released Friday morning (May 18).
